Leicester City Victory Parade

Today’s trip into Leicester was like nothing I’ve seen before.
The local BBC web site gives some ideas of the crowds in Victoria Park, but the noise and the sights in the city centre were fantastic.
These pictures give even more ideas of the size of the crowd around the city and in the park.

A few years ago I was spectating at the London Marathon when Mo Farah was making his first run at the distance. The noise which came before him was pretty amazing. That was nothing compared with the noise before the Leicester City bus in the town.

When looking at crowds, it’s always best if you can be above them looking down. Failing that, below them looking up can work reasonably well.

This is London Road, from the Railway Station facing up hill to Victoria Park.

Sharp flags, soft trophy – I’d like to say the arty effect is because I planned it that way. The crush of crowds probably made it easier to use a compact camera, so this is what the auto focus did.

On the subject of autofocus doing strange things, I thought I’d caught the bus, but instead I caught the mood. The picture below is a very reduced quality picture. If this is you / your child please fill in the details below and I’ll happily get a full quality copy to you. I wish I had a picture of one of my children looking like this. Don’t worry about filling your details in below, they won’t be shared and I do have a couple of enhanced DBS clearances.

A few weeks ago I snapped a #backingtheblues banner outside a local temple. The view from the temple this evening is shown below. Yep. They did it.
